Provenance |
The first railway in Callander, the Nipissing and Nosbonsing Railway (1878), was built to move the logs cut by J.R. Booth from the Nipissing watershed to the Ottawa River watershed and eventually to Ottawa where he had his mills. This line was abandoned when the J.R. Booth operation moved out of the area. The original rail bed is now Wasi Falls Road, Wasi Road (Highway 654), Lake Nosbonsing Road and Booth Road. |
